Denise's work background has been extensively in Contract's Law and Procurement for the past ten years in Corporate America. I was a product of a dysfunctional upbringing. Today, I am a survivor of teen and domestic abuse, for many years I suffered in silence from low self-esteem, loss of identity, divorce, rejection, neglect, poverty. After battling for nineteen years to breaking free from this vicious cycle, my life was transitioned to a spiritual calling. I’ve since become an ordained minister, mentor, and advocate for victims of domestic abuse. I’ve authored two books of my life’s testimony non-fiction works, “Rhythm of Rage, A Passion of Thorns”, Praying to Know Him; Praying from my Soul, and a poetry book, “A Breath of Melodies”. I am founder of this non-profit organization “Reflections of Grace Outreach Ministries”, “A Heart for The People.”

I’ve been empowered to inspire, educate and motivate others to walk into the light. I am passionate and committed to advocating and seeing others set free from the pain and defeat that has taken a toll on their lives, and to become mentally, healthy and inspired to reach higher toward their dream of happiness by living holistically well. I realized that I have been given a second chance and a platform to hold as a beacon of hope and courage. Since I’ve lived on the other side of the mask, I know what it feels like to walk in the shoes of being a victim of abuse. I have received certification in completing the Sexual Assault Service and Domestic Violence Counseling and related issues program in the State of Illinois. I was once lost, but now I’m set free to pursue all of the possibilities that are within my reach of seeing “Reflections of Grace Outreach Ministries”, “A Heart for The People” vision reaching people from all walks of life.

My latest outreach effort called Denise’s Essential Goods “Things that are necessary & Essentially Good” provides essential items and services regarding health and wellness, prevention of early teen pregnancy and risk reduction education for pre-High School through college aged youth and the adult community members on topics such as: Health and Wellness, Single Parenting, Teen Parenting, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, bullying, sexual harassment, abduction prevention, dating violence, healthy relationships, sexual assault, violence in the home, impact of domestic violence and child sexual abuse on youth and adults, and how to support a friend.
